Kevin Diamond is currently the Chief Digital Officer for the publicly-traded PLBY Group. Kevin oversees all technology, direct marketing and digital consumer products business lines, which include Playboy, Yandy, Honey Birdette and Lovers. Kevin helped oversee the acquisitions of Lovers, HB and two additional companies that form the basis for Centerfold, the company’s growing social fan network. Over the course of the past year, Kevin has grown the digital businesses, implementing all new common enterprise technologies across the business lines and created a Customer 360 marketing program.
Kevin formerly also ran Digital for Forever 21. Ownership of the full P&L and all aspects of the management from marketing, fulfillment, merchandising, technology, service and operations. Kevin’s eCommerce business drove double-digit profitability and growth. Despite Forever 21 going through tough times, Kevin’s leadership and bright spot in the business allowed for the company to exit bankruptcy and become the largest component in the ABG portfolio at the time, where Kevin continued to run over half of the company.
Previously Kevin served as the Chief Technology Officer at the hot Silicon Beach startup The Black Tux. Before that Kevin ran M&A and Technology strategy for Nordstrom, and was the CTO for NordstromRack.com. Kevin joined Nordstrom through the acquisition of his startup HauteLook which brought in over $1B annually before he left. He oversaw technology, strategy, marketing, operations and was responsible for the development of e-commerce and mobile businesses.
Kevin is a seasoned digital executive, with more than a decade and a half of experience leading comprehensive teams and building profitable businesses either from scratch or taking over ones in search of growth.
Launching many successful commerce experiences and building top internet retail sites generating billions of dollars in sales, Kevin is a leader in the eCommerce space.
Running large agile technology departments is a must to scale any business today. Understanding the best ways to scale teams, hire quality engineers, resolve technical debt and tackle long backlogs is more an art than a science.
Knowing what to build with an eye on customer experience, building a comprehensive roadmap that can be accomplished by multiple empowered teams with managed dependencies, while still experimenting into new product ideas is the key to success.
Startups are everywhere, but without financing, executive team building, financial business modeling and a streamlined/focused plan, yours won’t make the cut. Kevin has experience from both startup leadership and venture capital.
